Was looking to spend around $500 and this seemed like the best price for a 10x12.
As far as foundation I was thinking of building a wooden platform. Thoughts/tips/suggestions?

I just helped my buddy build that exact model about two months ago. It works fine - we laid paver stones down as the foundation. Kinda a pain in the arse to put together, FWIW.

Worth the money as far as quality?

As far as options in that price range, it's about the best you're going to do. We looked at all types of sheds and the nice wooden structures are more expensive, obviously, but then the delivery and labor costs are outrageous on top of that, as I'm sure you're aware. As long as you don't beat the hell out of it, it should last a long time. I wouldn't put it anywhere where tree limbs may fall on it. My buddy bought a nice(cheap) anchoring system from Lowe's as well so that he wouldn't have to worry about the wind blowing it away because it is relatively light.

Yeah I'm not far from baton rouge. I was also thinking about putting an anchoring system, even though Im not sure how much that would help.

It helps a shitload. Would take something serious to move this thing now. Something serious enough where the shed would probably be the least of your concerns.

I have that exact shed. I put it up about 7 or 8 years ago when we bought this house. Yes, it's a pain in the arse to put together. It works, I guess. Mine is finally starting to rust on one corner. Maybe if I'd put it on a foundation it would have lasted longer.

Basically, it's a piece of shite, but all I could afford was a piece of shite.

I used the floor kit that came with it and laid plywood on it. By "floor kit", I'm assuming you mean the rails that lay on the ground?

It's just rails that attack to the sides and lay on the ground. It allows you to screw plywood on top of it. It works, but would work better if you somehow supported the whole thing up higher off the ground.
