Anyone here have any thoughts on how these stocks will rebound off of these recent losses? I recently started a position in agnc and mtge. I feel like the sell off is an overreaction to likely increasing interest rates in the next few years

You are not a happy camper. I have been watching this for a client that wants back in. Thankfully, I got lucky and told him to wait a bit.

I started both positions yesterday so it could be much worse. I hope this trend doesn't continue though

According to my personal crystal opinion ball, I think the major dip is over for most REITs, but an overreaction will continue over the next few weeks. A few factors for AGNC in particular:

1) Poor earnings report
2) Potential tapering
3) Interest rate expectations

Couple this with the potentiality that management will reduce the dividend due to poor earnings and an expectation that growth expectations might be reduced, I'm not a huge fan. I don't think you will lose your shirt in most of these stocks, even more confident in a mREIT ETF, but I think the attractiveness has fallen a bit out of favor.

I know nothing bout the 2REITS mentioned but reits have done well for me in the last 2 years. All I care about is the div. starwood (stwd?) and Invesco treat me well.

My best money in high yielding stocks has been nat gas pipeline mlp's. Great div.

Stock price per share means less to me than yield. But I

Mlpfx has been a good option recently if you don't want to hold individual stocks like mlps.
