Pulling Rumbelow when he did. Putting in Bourgeous and pulling him when he did and putting in Cotton, and then his best call was pinch hitting Schambria when he did....

THe only thing I was upset about was playing the shift instead of playing at DP depth.

He and Corbin were playing a chess match out there. Was a great game to watch live.

the only move I wasn't sure about was pulling McCune after 1. Maybe there was a reason, but whatever. We won the game so it's all moot. He clearly made the right moves because we won the whole damn thing.

I thought it was weird to pull McCune after 1 inning also, but I chalked it up to him wanting to put other guys in pressure situations to see how they fare.

I'm starting to think we may not be able to rely on Rumbelow in a tight spot.

Cune looked great for two batters, then bounced a ball at 52 feet and after that could barely throw a pitch that Ross could catch. They almost Charlie Browned him for the last out. The Cune was done. It was over.

I had to leave the room when he pitched. I don't know what it is about him. He makes me nervous.
Him and Booj-wah...

But they did their part and I am grateful.

The positioning of yocum on the double play ball when rumbelow was pitching hurt us bad. Other than that it was great

They pulled him because he stepped on the foul line walking back to the dugout after he stabbed that ball for the third out. They knew he was cursed if he went back in.

He wants Rumbelow to be Bertuccini, but he ain't. Bert was filthy. Foster has earned a spot. Whether he goes with Laird or Stevenson in center, I don't know, but this season, Foster has performed every time he plays.

Rumbelow's "stuff" >>>>>>> every other pitcher on our staff

Mid 90s fastball, great curve ball/slider. If he had Cotton's mental make up he'd pitch in the MLB.

I think he uses the bullpen the same way a lot of managers in the majors do. Rumbelow, Bourgeois, and Cotton are our 7th, 8th, and 9th inning guys when we have the lead in a close game...and he was just bridging the gap to turn it over to those 3.

I'm not saying it's correct to have such structure in a college bullpen, just the way I think he sees it.

I like it being set up that way. It's worked for Jim Morris in the past. But Rumbelow has struggled in key spots lately.

While i agree, he gets thrown into some really shitty spots and that ground ball up the middle should have been an inning ending double play with no runs scored
