Explain, new sewer pump costs near $200. Not doubting just wanting to save next time mine goes out.

The pump turned out to be okay just a little black from all the wiring and plugs melting.

I replaced all the wiring and plugs. To my relief the breaker was just tripped.

Op reworded my bad.

My septic system has a lift pump to pump out the water. Sure as shite, that sucker breaks on any holiday. I keep a spare at all times now.

Oh, ac units like to break on holidays too!

Serious question: Why do yall have to have a septic tank pump? Don't you have field beds for septic tanks? And where do yall pump this crap to? Never heard of needing a home septic tank pump before. Our septic tanks just drain out into the field beds.

Pumps are used in areas that have a high water table or saturated soils. You have to pump the sewage up to higher ground. Also called engineered system.

Some of us are really close to sea level

But even the northern part of the state with small hills can't use field beds somethimes. Not sure if its parish by parish or state thing.
