I have 2 1/2 questions for you wonderful folks - day laborers & dachshund care

A lot on my mind today so I'll just get right to it:

1. Out at my parents' this weekend and I noticed that their Dachshund's really sore in the hip. Think he got his annual shots yesterday and it's really making him sore there. But he also has broken that leg before (we adopted him from a vet that rescued him). He's probably 10 years old.

Are there any household pain relievers that I could give him? Dude can barely even walk, so I have to pick him up like a loaf of bread and carry him around.

2. To what extent has anyone used those helpful gentleman outside of Home Depot for a day's work? Any bad experiences? I trust they're all fully documented residents . How much per hour are they for moving/painting a room?

2 1/2. Riding off that question, is it a really bad idea to have someone like that come to your home to help you move in and possibly paint a room?

I'm a big fan of dachshunds and have never used day workers from a box box hardware store.

Hope this helps.

1. Shoot the dog and put it out its misery. 2. It must suck to be poor.

For the dog long term, make sure he doesn't eat too much. Even though the dog is little , it may be overweight for its size. Causes a lot of hip problems.

for the cheap help at Lowe's, etc. I have no idea. But typically they are a minority that wants to work.

Baby aspirin works great.

Are you sure its from the shots? Could it be arthritis? If so, give him some glucosamine. It really helps with animals suffering from arthritis.

I've used them a ton. No bad experiences. Well that is if you consider me being run into the ground because I can't keep up a bad experience.

Who cares if they are documented or not? You sure aren't taking out payroll taxes. Its better that they are trying to earn money legally. BUT, chances are they are illegals.

Pay them what you would pay anyone else. Same work. $10 an hour would be good.

As opposed to anyone else? Think about it for a minute. These are people trying to earn money illegally. You think they want any problems with the law? They just want to make money.

Best of luck

Actually, he's having the opposite issue as coincidence would have it. He used to have a little extra cushion but he's really lost some weight the past several months. He's in a healthy weight range, but part of me thinks he's closer to too skinny than too fat.

This is something that he was just doing last night. So it hasn't trended towards this. He's still very active. He was just standing still and would limp that leg if he ever took a step.

I don't care, I was ing to indicate as much

Just a question. They don't have "bosses" or a company's reputation (and bank account) on the line for misconduct. Just doing my diligence.
