If they want seafood, Louisiana Lagniappe. Get there early though, good bar as well.

Steaks - Ruth's

What is the price range for you? Should have asked you that first.

This for seafood. I know I will get killed for this, but I think Mike Anderson's is still the best fry house in Baton Rouge.

If they don't want seafood I agree with R2R.

ETA: Gino's is still my favorite place in BR if they want Italian.

For upscale places Mansur's, Juban's or Galatoire's. I'd lean toward Galatoire's for the Louisiana ambiance.

For casual Parrain's or the Chimes East.

I'd skip the steak, both regular and chicken fried, because they get plenty of that at home.

Price range?

Location preference?

There have been plenty of good suggestions so far.

The fire did force them to change their oil so it's only a few years old now.

That's cute. Now tell me who has better fried shrimp in BR than Mike Anderson's?

I end up at the one in Gonzales about once a month for lunch.

Fried food is always good.

I haven't been to the one on Lee in a long time.

The babies love it. Lot's of fishes in the aquariums. I maintain that they serve the best fried shrimp around. Wife gets them. I get softshell crabs if the waiter says they aren't funky.
