This is the precise reason I have my Bull Boxer mutt
Pit Saves Owner and Child
Fake UPS driver better not show up to try and get Mrs. Stamper! (Although mine would prolly lick him to death, his bark sounds really mean to strangers knocking on the door)

I DEF keep a shock collar on him at all times. And if there will be any chance of people around that he doesn't know, he gets the body harness and a leash treatment. None of that front yard running around BS either

My pit was gentle as a lamb until you messed with the kids or family. He even got into a fight with my bull over a watermelon. The pit won, btw. I had to put him down when he was 12. Arthritis was so bad, he could hardly move without being in so much pain. And for a pit to whine from pain is saying a lot. They have a high pain thresh hold. I still miss him...
