Which one of you passed me while I drank beer on the sandbar with my kids yesterday?

Note: I was drinking beer. Kids had juice and gallons of river water.

Is the upper Amite also referred as the Petite Amite?

All I know is that my little boat (16' ski) isn't impressed by going past the Diversion Canal.

North of I-12?

I would love to float from the state line south. Or wherever you can start floating from.

If someone can provide me with details about this is love to do it. What time of year? Where to put in? And time?

I can get an extra yak if anyone wants to do it.

No, that's behind St. Amant/Sorrento.

That'd be a lot of fun to do, but you'd have a small window of the water being high enough to make it without dragging arse the whole time.

That's what I'm unsure of. I know of a few bridges we can launch from, but water level is what concerns me most.

You can put in at denham springs and float down. Biggest problem with further upriver is trees and brush across the river. I think water level would be plenty. Even the comite just south of Clinton has enough water. Just going to have to go around obstacles.

Now I understand. There are a few sandbars up river from Galveztown Landing (Big Johns).

I put in at Freds and worry about water levels upriver of Galveztown because my boat is fiberglass.

I put a softball sized hole in my hull one bend upriver of BigJohns.

The sandbar you post of is greatness.
