hmm.. I dont know what I think of this. I really like Nolan, but if he keeps taking on these "established" franchises.. we are never going to get another Inception, The Prestige, or Momento

His upcoming movie is an original(I think) sci-fi movie

His next film is Interstellar, a SciFi movie in that vein.

This is what he does...big huge genre movie followed by a movie he wants to make.

Keeps the studio happy, keeps him making money, and allows him to make the big expensive movies he wants to make.

Yeah! I actually completely forgot about Interstellar.. he's also working on Transcendence and an unknown Supernatural Thriller.. gah I love the Nolan brothers.. they are so amazing.

If anyone has been watching Person of Interest, on Johnathan's ability to draw you into a story.

This shite pisses me off. I have no doubt that Interstellar will join Inception, The Prestige and Memento as great films that he's directed....but I can't stand when he goes the blockbuster route like Batman and now this James Bond crap. The Dark Knight trilogy was well done (although TDKR was mediocre) but I wish he'd focus more on his own material now.

He's a great director who brings something new and original to the table, which is something the movie industry lacks right now. He should leave comics and other franchises to the directors that aren't on his level.

For a visionary who is very confident in his abilities, there isn't a more challenging task than taking on previously established genres and making them your own.

Is Michael Cain gonna play a bad guy?

Seriously, the guy that did Skyfall needs to do the next one. I watched Thunderball the other day and man did Skyfall really have that old school Bond feeling.

I loved Skyfall and would love for Sam Mendes to do the next one, but he has already declined the invitation.

I loved what Mendes did with Skyfall, but if Nolan were to direct a Bond film.

You do realize that Nolan has to do these types of movies to continue to get the massive studio funding for his side projects, right? Without the success of Batman, there is no way in hell a studio would give him $250 million for an original project (Inception). That's a massive amount of money for a studio to front with the only brand recognition being Christopher Nolan.

Personally, I would prefer that someone else direct the next Bond film, and then wrap up Daniel Craig's arc (trust me, I LOVE the Craig films).

Let Nolan start with Bond from scratch. But that's just me.
