All the little hole in the wall places seem to be about all pretty good. I haven't had any that was straight up bad.
I pretty much lived off of Nine Dragon on Burbank when I was in college. Their 5$ lunch special is a steal

What's your version of Chinese, meaning what dishes do you usually like to order?

Do a FDB search for Omi... should be some relatively new threads with reviews which were very positive. Supposedly it's legit authentic Chinese.

Although I think their lunch buffet sucks, I do like some items from off the menu at Hunan. My favorite is the prawns with fruit sauce and sweetened walnuts.

Hunan lunch buffet

The only thing I really don't care for are the egg rolls. Somehow they always taste stinky to me, and not in a good Asian exotic spice way.

They do have the best tasting Singapore noodles in town.

I personally don't care for Dim Sum; a lot of people like it though.

Omi is the old chef from Koi right off campus, when it was money. So that one's a winner.

For takey outey you can't beat Nine Dragon. Hunan non buffet is great. I've heard good things about Dim Sum.

Omi is by far the best Chinese in the city. It's in a different league than all the rest. Hunan's, Dim Sum, even better than the chinese offerings from Koi.

The Oriental Pearl. The one on Sherwood Forest, not the one on Government. The lunch buffet is small, but it's pretty damned good if you're looking for standard buffet stuff.

Dim Sum off of Airline is pretty authentic, but you'd better be prepared for "chicken feet authentic".

I've heard Omi does some non-buffet type stuff pretty good, too.

Omi is the original owner and chef from Koi. The menu is the same but expanded. The quality is higher at Omi, probably due to it being the original chef.
