Appartments, condos, townhouses around LSU area

My friend and I are looking for a place to stay around campus. Somewhere within a 10-15 minute drive is fine. 2 bedroom of course. Around 800-900 a month, but if utilities are included we obviously would pay more. Just looking for a few places to check out online. We both make decent money, so nothing trashy. Any advice and suggestions would be appreciated.

If that's all you're willing to spend, El Cid is actually a good suggestion.

You will only find shite holes at that price.

Jennifer Jean has a few houses that go that cheap.
I'd go for something around Park if you're not opposed to driving to campus. There are some really nice properties in Southdowns and/or the Garden District for around that price as well. Also, look up Lake Beau Pre.

We could afford more. But I rather just put more money into savings and not cut back on other things.

Hmmm.... that's a tricky one. Here's an idea, take a dead cat, and swing it by the tail, whichever one of the 50 condos/apartment complexes you hit first, see if that's the one you want to stay in.

do you mean $800-$900 a piece or total price???
Cause you will not find anything for that cheap. Now if your talking about that much a piece you can find a really nice place. Probably a full house with yard and all

re: Appartments, condos, townhouses around LSU area

A buddy and I lived at a 2BR 2Bath place in Brooke Hollow off Nicholson during the 2010-11 school yr. It was $950/month at the time with water included. Insulation sucked so electric bill was high. Decent place for the money.

If you're really looking to be cheap, me and three buddies lived in Brightside View apartments during 07-08 and that shite hole was $850/month total at the time. I mean this was the epitome of a broke man's college apartment.

It's really hard to exaggerate how shitty it was. We had to get a splitter and run wire from the only cable outlet in the living room. Kitchen the size of a closet. My bedroom had a sliding glass door that led to the porch that didn't lock. Had to shove a 2x4 in the frame to "lock" it. I slept on a twin mattress with the box spring just sitting on the floor.

Not happening broseph. Either you both don't make decent $ or you're cheap and think NBR prices apply to campus.

Look for duplexes in Southdowns. From '08-'10 I lived in a 2br duplex in Southdowns. $850+ utilities/month. Nice area, close to campus and relatively quiet.

This is the most false statement ever.

I live in a very cute 2-bedroom house in a really awesome neighborhood with a fenced in yard and a fireplace and a deck with sliding doors from my bedroom that open to the deck..

for $850/month. I get to school in 5-10 minutes and don't even have to enter a major roadway to do so. All neighborhood streets.

As I said in the other thread, almost every complex on Jefferson is under $900 a month if he's okay with that area.

The only way $900 is considered a "shithole" price is if you insist on living up LSU's arse and walking everywhere.
