Going back to signing day and waking up that morning….. “It was really about 5-10 minutes before I signed and I still didn’t know who it would be that morning when I woke up. Taking that drive to school and just thinking about what would be best for me and where I would have the best combination of school and football then I realized LSU would be the best place. At the end of the day college is a business and it was a business decision. It was a very small part of it, but I realized I could excel at LSU very well and quicker than other places.”
Was distance from home ever a factor with LSU….. “At first, in the beginning of the process, I thought about it but at the end of the day it was my life we were talking about. When you make a life decision like this distance from home should not really be a factor. You can always go back home after school.”

hope he sticks it out if playing time doesn't come immediately.

LSU staff didn't even know he was signing with them until he did.
Glad Bower decided on the Tigers. Gonna be a real good player.

Gotta believe the kid will have every oppurtunity to play next season with our lack of dline depth.

I like his attitude...judging by his comments, he has a good head on his shoulders...I'm glad he decided to come here and I hope he excels

I totally agree. What a well-reasoned thought process! Sounds like an honest, mature response (though not as colorful) as Sam Montgomery would give.
Excited to have him!

Montgomery is definitely colorful...he says too much at times (e.g. the combine)..

Bower does have a really good head on his shoulders. That much is for certain.
I know a lot of these new signees are expecting early playing time due to promises by the coaches (justifiably so), but since we have so many of these guys coming in a once and none of them are EEs, do yall think they even see much PT before say November?

The DEs have to see the field early because we have no depth at that position. Feist had to moved to DE during the spring just so we could have 4 healthy DEs.

I guess my main point was that I wished one of the new guys would have been an EE so that they could have had some extra work in the system in the spring and a leg up. I know a lot of these guys are real good especially Bower and Herron. Wishful thinking I guess...

Smart man. He should see the field from year 1.

with Bain, Patterson, Neal backing them up.
2013 front 7 group was absolutely sick.

yes. 2-3 guys will. I cant say, but id think bower and herron would be on top of that list with gilmore. Up to the coaches and who comes in ready to go. Best thing is, they wont have to start like the secondary last year. they at least have starters in place.
We arent as bad off as people think. So many young guys played last season. If any of this monster d line haul can come in and play, we will be fine. If not, it is on the coaches and their evaluating. Which has not been a problem on the defensive side of the ball in a long time.

It was interesting that he decided on LSU in about the time it takes for him to walk up to the table where he signed. Florida fans thought they had him in the bag.

Sounds like a pretty bright young man...

Very politically correct comments. Our current athletes can learn a lot from him.
Seems to be a very focused and driven young man.
