"Old school
Bama 82"
I still hate that I did not get to see this game. My dad had gotten transferred to Oklahoma and back in those days, your college football options were pretty limited. We had regional coverage of a different game - I have no idea what it was - but I watched that network's game (ABC?) so that we would get scores on a more regular basis and the occasional, prized highlight. Every time I would see a positive score, I would run to the back yard and throw a few down on a "dunk goal" we had. Good times!

Bama 11/5/11
Held them to 2 FGs in 5 quarters. All anybody remembers was that they had 4 missed field goals, but they missed from 45yds, 50yds, 52yds and were blocked from 49yds. That game also included probably the best defensive play of the year with Reids interception at the 1. And if you count punting as a defensive stat, Wing had a 73 yd punt from the shadow of his own endzone, had 4 punts inside the 20 and 3 inside the 10yd line

good answer. maybe the question should be broken down into performances vs competitive and noncompetitive opponents.

Auburn Jamie Howard 5 ints .We could have punted on second down entire second half and won by two touchdowns.

All mentioned are good. I would also put the Arizona game in 03. Sitting there watching that D totally own that Arizona team on the road. We all asked the question is our D that good or is Arizona that bad. Well we found out our D was that good.
I was there and remember that Arizona's scoreboard had a spot that showed the total number of yards each team had. I recall looking at it in the 2nd quarter and AZ had negative yards. The next time I looked at it they had turned it off.

Craig Steltz and the 2007 LSU defense to open the season on a Thursday in 2007 against Moo State.
Less than 200 yards and 7 turnovers..>I think we had like 7 sacks too.
Or the 2003 Auburn game (I was present at that one).
But 2011 had some great performances too....too bad we couldn't capitalize and win the title that year.

vs Miami in the Peach Bowl. That goal line stand was incredible
I was there for that one. The next Peach Bowl against Georgia Tech was almost as good. Both Miami and Tech thought they would beat us. Each was destroyed.

2011 LSU vs. Ole Miss
52-3
Could have easily scored 70-80 and if we had kpet the defensive starters in, OM would probably have had 6-8 interceptions. It was that bad and some people actually tried to say but Nutt always plays us close

Completely acknowledge that, but LSU made them look like a D-3 school. A lifetime of Houston Nutt frustrations taken out in 3 1/2 hours.
yeah you right!

So many to pick from. GT in 2008 peach bowl was great considering how bad the defense was all season. Triple option fail.

The Oklahoma game was awesome because pretty much all LSU fans knew what was about to happen. That defense was legendary.

Agree from an Aubie... Nobody shut our offense down like LSU that year. Thank God for pass happy Curly.

That Va Tech beatdown was really something awesome to see.
Yes. I never get tired of watching that game.
It was great to see the annually overranked Buckeyes get their butts handed to them too.
