I got a message from my ISP telling me to stop torrenting basically. Never had this happen before, in like 5 years of doing it.

Your ISP doesn't give a shite about you torrenting until they receive notice from someone to force them into trying to do something about it. I had Comcast send me a letter years ago saying that I downloaded an episode of House MD and fox was going to try to sue me an everything else.

my ISP didn't even send me a letter. they just shut my internet off. I had to attest that I know that torrenting is wrong and I'll never do it again, blah blah blah.

I use peer guardian to mask my ip and haven't had any problems since and that has been about 7 or 8 years.
