I honestly do not care. If people think he is GOAT, then great. If people think MJ is GOAT, then great as well. I just want to see LeBron James have an awesome career and accomplish greatness, GOAT or not. I want LJ to be LJ. Plus the whole GOAT thing is subjective anyways, there are always people saying things otherwise, like Bill Russel is the GOAT.

I don't really care.

He's a great player and probably the best of his era... the GOAT discussion is silly anyway.

Don't care

But he won't get there because he is not a competitive psychopath and that is what it takes to be the GOAT

This is simply not true.

Besides, LeBron is extremely competitive. You can't look at his work ethic or his improvement from year to year and say he isn't. It's very apparent he is driven to become one of the best ever, if not the best ever. Is he a psychopath to the extent that Jordan is? No. But it's not a competition for most psychopathic competitor. It's a competition for best player.

Doesnt have the athleticism. He really does have the all around game though. He can get a rebound and push the ball up the court, etc. But he just doesnt have the athleticism.

He'll likely be a Paul Pierce type. He's some athleticism from being Prime Grant Hill and if he was a machine he'd be LeBron.

I grew up watching jordan and lebron has to do more than jordan to be considered the GOAT.

Even if he wins another MVP and wins 5 more champtionships to match jordan, jordan will still be considered the GOAT between the two.

The biggest reasons are because of the 2 separate 3-peats, and creates a "what if" factor that he may have simply won 8 in a row and he has never a NBA finals compared to lebron's 2.

So let me get this straight. An argument in favor of Jordan is that he went to two fewer Finals and didn't lose?

So it's better to lose in the 2nd round of the playoffs than it is to lose in the Finals? Brilliant.

Or I guess the pro-Jordan argument is that his competitiveness wouldn't let them lose in the Finals. I just have to wonder what happened during those 1st, 2nd, and Conference Finals series. Guess they weren't important enough for his competitiveness to kick in.

As a fan, I never wanted anyone to eclipse the greatness of Michael Jordan. Then again, as a kid watching him, I had no idea MJ was the such an arrogant douche. I knew he was a super competitive guy obviously, but after his HoF speech it was obvious that the stories were true. Now, I'm fine with Lebron taking his place.

Not really.. Most of the people on this board were in elem or middle school at the latest when he won his last title.

Hell, I was in elementary school when Lebron entered the NBA... Now I'm in college. He's been in the league a long time, and he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

lets not forget there was no twitter or social media that allows news to get passed around the world in a single second. sports media today is infinitely more crazy and intense than it was back in 1996
