North state park. You can put in and start fishing.

Indian Mounds, and u can tent camp right there

I like the South State Park, lots of coves you can walk/ drive to inside the park.

I have kayak fished out of NTBSP on several ovvassions with success. The area gets pounded on the weekends due to the boat launch, but it is pretty quiet during the week.
