I'll have to level my arcanist to at least 32 or so, I believe (for WHM), and I might just finish it out. My glad and marauder are both around 25 so I have that option as well.

Adventurers Struck by Disbelief

Taverns across Eorzea are abuzz with talk of a mysterious warrioress slaying creatures then vanishing as quickly as she appears. With rumors spread so far and fast, I thought this was perhaps the foretelling of another great adventurer, an heir to the warriors of light. Brief dialogues with those who have glimpsed upon her, however, have regrettably left me with more questions than answers.

When asked to describe her appearance, my informants swore that her garments were unlike anything ever to be woven or forged in the realm. More concerning, however, was her weapon—a strange blade that also serves as a firearm. Far be it from this humble scribe to question one who would protect Eorzea's people, but only the Garlean Empire has been known to wield weaponry of such bizarre form and function. Coupled with battle prowess said to leave even the most accomplished of adventurers in awe, one cannot help but wonder where her allegiance lies.

Under the assumption we are dealing with an adventurer whose exploits have remained unnoticed, I took it upon myself to consult with the Adventurer's Guild. Surely, I surmised, a heroine of such high caliber would have registered with the guild before running headlong into dangers unknown. And yet, no matter which branch of the Adventurer's Guild I visited, the answer was the same. No one in their records matches the description of this nameless crusader.
With so much left unanswered, there is perhaps no better place to unravel this mystery than on the battlefields where she is said to appear. Stay alert on your travels, dear reader, that you may find the answer to the burning question on everyone's lips.

Some low level gear for the event, but it looks like people can run around looking like those two characters from 13. I'll do it just to get the hair cut

Absolutely.

We run coil 2-3 times a week. I don't know if we'll have an open spot every run, but we have to get alternates at least once/week.

I'll send you an invite today.

Yoshi posted in line today on the forums, here are a few of the points from it:

quote:

From the initial release of FFXIV: ARR, we predicted it would take roughly a month and a half for the most dedicated players to reach the Binding of Coil of Bahamut, and roughly two months for the general player population. Furthermore, we wanted players to acquire gear using Allagan tomestones of mythology in tandem with clearing the Binding Coil. This served as the basis for determining the rate at which tomestones can be earned, which is currently limited to 300 tomestones of mythology per week. With the release of patch 2.1, this limit will be increased to about 450 tomestones per week, for reasons which will be explained at the end.

quote:

ere is an example of how the upcoming update will appeal to more players:
Beast Tribe Quests
- Learn about the beast tribes in daily quests and acquire tomestones.
Treasure Hunts
- Search for buried treasure with up to four players and obtain crafting material, consumable items, and tomestones.
Duty Roulette
- Join a duty at random and receive bonus tomestones and experience points.
Housing
- Build and furnish a home with the aid of Eorzea's crafters and gatherers, or use your own skills to do the same.
Wolves' Den
- Test your combat skills against your fellow players, earning fame and fortune.
Crystal Tower
- Challenge an ancient tower with 23 of your strongest allies and face the dangers within.
Pharos Sirius
- Explore an abandoned lighthouse to obtain new gear and tomestones.
Two Hard Mode Dungeons
- Face greater dangers to obtain new gear and tomestones.
Aesthetician
- Keep your characters fresh by changing their appearance.
Extreme Primal Battles and Good King Moggle Mog
- Confront a mysterious new enemy and three familiar foes to obtain new gear and tomestones.
New Main Scenario Quests
- Work together with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn for the sake of Eorzea.
New Side Quests
- Take part in additional side stories to learn more about the peoples and cultures of Eorzea.

Did you guys finish turn2 last night?

My group kept getting ADS down to 15% and wiping because of rot, it was kinda irritating.

Tuesday and Sunday are almost always certain.

We've ran things on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday as well. Those just aren't as normal.

We got through it on second attempt. We died the first time because of a DPS mistake + healers having to work more because of a mistake I made on my first try.

Yeah, I don't think sic does either.

Regardless, we'd be taking anyone who wants to join the FC. Spots in coil will be a bit harder to come by, but they will definitely open up. Our group is pretty solid and clear all 5 turns.

We're all at endgame stuff.

And I'd suggest picking one class and sticking with it.

Get your Gladiator to 30 first. Leveling scales and the greater distance between your highest level job and current job scales how much you need.

Don't bother with until endgame. No reason for it as you change gears every 5-6 levels.

I've never messed with materia, other than selling it. Maybe I should start.

I can't really see a viable reason to buy materia. It's so overpriced for the value you get from it (especially on Hyperion).

We also tried Turn 5 last night. We never got past 70% health remaining. Twintania is one very tough boss.
