An acquaintance is driving through Louisiana tomorrow and wants a good lunch place off I-10. My estimation (based on Google maps) is Laffy by 10:30, so lunch somewhere between there and LC.

Where would y'all recommend? Is Fezzo's in Crowley good? I haven't been to the one in Laffy, but I've seen some of y'all post positive reviews. What about Chef Roy's in Crowley? I don't know restaurants in Lake Charles.

Chef Roy's in Rayne is good. Fezzo's in Scott also. Nothing after that. Darrel's in LC has the best sandwich every made.

If they are running a little late, I would suggest Poches just before Lafayette. About 2 miles north of the Breaux Bridge exit.

Poche's or Cafe Des Amis were my suggestions if they were ready to eat when hitting Breaux Bridge.

I'd go with Chef Roy's in Rayne over Fezzo's. If they're ahead on time, I'd second the Darrell's Special in LC once they get there. If they're behind, Poche's is a solid choice.

Either way, make sure they stop in Scott and get themselves some cracklins.

If they're passing through Lafayette at 10:30, they'll get to LC by 11:30-11:45.

In that case, Darrell's is the correct answer!

Cajun Tales in Welsh is pretty good if they get caught in no-man's land between Crowley and LC when lunchtime hits.

I suggest Daigle's in Welsh.

I've also heard good things about Frey's, also in Welsh...

Frey's closed in Jennings more than a year ago. I thought they were re-opening in Welsh. Not sure.

Steamboat Bill's is the correct answer for passing through.

Darrell's is great and all but will take a little longer if on a road trip.

Steamboat Bill's is easy on/off I-10 and has fast service.

Recommendation: House Stuffed Potato for lunch

Fezzo's in Scott is better then the one in Crowley. The one in Crowley used to be good but I think they moved their better chef when they opened in Scott.
