I know this is probably Germans but this weekend in particular, the atmosphere in the new Alex Box just appears low key. I know the facility is top notch but the crowd appears detached. I've been to the old Box numerous times & I just don't get that "magic" eminating from the new Box, at least from a TV broadcast perspective.

Definitely why we lost this weekend

We never lost a series to a top 10 team at the old Box

you are correct. it's not a huge drop-off but it's noticeable to anyone who's been going for years.

that being said I really really like the new box and I think it's first class. I don't find myself missing the old box that much - just the memories...

I think you should call in to Mainiri's radio show tomorrow night and suggest we tear down the new Box and rebuild the old Box.

Please tell me you will do it!

Not saying that's why we lost. I've never had a chance to see a game in the new Box so I can't speak from someone who's been. However, a packed house in the old Alex Box was a great atmosphere. It just appears from watching on TV it lacks something. Can't really describe it.

This is akin to the people's reasons for leaving football games early

OP is judging a stadium he hasn't even been to. What a wanker.

I think it was Bertman's field that got us...

If there would have been more hits, home runs, and less pop ups. I guarantee you the atmosphere would have been rocking. Tough for the crowd to get up when we weren't able to string consecutive hits together.

Look...I indicated it "appears" that way on TV. Even with a packed house on Sat night, the crowd "appeared" low key & the seating looks more detached from the old Box. It's just an observation.

IMHO I think LSU baseball has turned into a money making scheme no longer geared towards the fans. I grew up in the old box and remember days where u could bring freaking MCD's in the stadium and eat. Try and do that now. It cost freaking hondo if you bring your family. Rich folk go out there to waste time not cheer on there school.

So what you're saying is the atmosphere sucks because you haven't figured out how to sneak food into a relatively low security stadium yet?

yall are comparing 90s gorilla ball to nowadays. i really dont hink you can compare the 2 time periods. That like saying Tiger stadium was way better louder and crazier back in the 70-90s than it is now.
