The Tigers are also playing like it...they just don't have a killer instinct... Cruise control it is for this group. I just hope they know how to turn it on when they absolutely have to.

Reading the baseball threads today on the rant is like trying to explain baseball to my wife. It's hard to get it through her head that the best teams in MLB still lose a ton of games. Half of our fans think we will beat everybody 12-0 and hit 4 homers a game. They hit the ball pretty well today, just had some terrible luck and USC made a couple of remarkable plays.

After this week, LSU may plummet all the way to...#3! They lost two games against a to 10 team. It happens. UNC, LSU and Vandy are still obviously the top tier this year, and I think Vandy should move to #2.
That said, it seemed like having at least one ugly sweep, usually to Kentucky, for what ever reason, was a prerequisite for LSU to win the National Championship. They are in a bit of a slump from a TIMELY hitting standpoint, but they'll get it worked out.
As for seeding, I'd say that they deserve the 3 seed and would probably get the 4 seed if the committee decided today, but they would jump Vandy and get the 2 seed if they were to win the SEC tourney.

This place might get stupider after baseball losses than after football losses...if you can imagine that.
People just don't understand the game of baseball. Period. You go through spells when everything falls....you go through spells when everything goes in the other team's glove. Earlier in the year, Bregman's blast stays fair...Ross' bleeder hits the chalk...McMullen's ball hits grass instead of hitting the glove of a diving outfielder, etc. shite HAPPENS. This team is no more or less focused than it was 2 weeks ago. It is just in a funk and luckily enough, they are plenty good enough to play through it. I would have been more discouraged today if we had struck out 13 times and hit a bunch of slow grounders.
That is all. If the fools on this board want to be...well..foolish....then let them be. I am glad at least a few of us actually understand baseball and are not in panic mode.
If Kyle Peterson isn't panicking, then I am not panicking. That dude knows more college baseball than one man should.
