Give me your final grade on the draft. Driving now and can't read thru all these thrays. TIA.

I'm not sure I'm the guy to be grading the draft. I'm not a college guy. Blues knows more about these players.

However, in my opinion I think we did very well. If we didn't draft a starter we at least gave the position some fierce competition. I think all of our picks (outside of Rufus who's a raw physical specimen) will be able to contribute to some degree immediately.

I'm also pretty stoked about our UDFA class. I think Thomas and Riddick will make the team. Griffin can spend a year or two on the PS.

Sad but most probably true. PRob because they're not willing to give up on him just yet. Harper because of money and Greer because he's the only one in the backfield that comes close to earning his money.

We may have another shitty defense this year with the same old pieces back (anybody that thinks a scheme change and adding KV is miraculously going to turn these mules into a thoroughbred needs to lay the pipe down).

The blood letting starts next season.

I think he will be here this year, but not next.

Agree, both Greer and Harper will be gone next year due to the cap hell we'll be in, and Graham's contract.

Very possible and I've been saying this as well. Next year we will be forced to part ways with a few guys unless they pull a Vilma/Smith.

As far as a draft grade, I'd say we got a starter somewhere on the field out of Vaccaro(FS, SS, and NB; he'll play a bunch of snaps).

We have a potential starter at LT, if not this year than maybe next year.

We have a very good role player in Jenkins as a run stuffing NT.

We have a WR to add depth and compete for the burner/slot role(someone pointed out he did more slot things last year despite having very good speed).

We have a project that could become a good situational pass rusher in Johnson.

We also landed a few big name UDFA.

Unless the league dramatically increases the cap (which doesn't seem likely), we are in a major bind.

Whether Graham has a standout year this year or not, teams are going to go after him. It's going to take $6 mill (+) a year to keep him.

While we can't really afford to do so without losing a few guys, we can franchise him. We are not letting him just walk.

Plus, Loomis always backloads contracts so the first year likely won't kill us. It's when Brees' cap hit jumps to $26.4 mil in 2015 that we are going to be truly screwed.

Next year will be very tight though.
