Looking to do something fun and different this weekend. Where is a good spot near BR to bring my 5 gallon bucket, string, chicken necks, and cold beer and catch a few crabs?

I would give crabs another 2-3 weeks and let things warm up a bit. The place I would recommend is just wading in the surf at Grand Isle. If you are looking for adventure this weekend, try crawfishing.

rockefeller area. not near BR but they are running.

Bonnet Carre' near Norco. there's a park there that has a few piers that you can crab off of. Get there early. Lots of people

You'll need to head to serious saltwater to do any good right now. The brackish water isn't holding any crabs at the moment. Give that another month before they really start to turn on. If you're willing to head to the Grand Isle area, you'll catch enough for a boil.

ETA: Elmer's Isle is open again for whomever asked that question.
