Not sure what it was (if anything) before Couyon's and the Purple Goose, but I noticed there is a new place called Leroy's opening up this this weekend I believe.

Seems like that location is similar to the location across from Mike Anderson's, which gets a new business and fails about every three months.

I never went to Couyon's and tried to go to Purple Goose once but it was closed on a Sunday. Curious to see how long this place lasts.

They had a joint in there between Purple Goose and this new place...it was called River bank Ice House or something. Lasted about 3 months...the Almighty Walk Ons must be too powerful for these joints to survive

Apparently so.

Anyone eat at the place when it was under different ownership ?

I ate at the purple goose a couple times and the food was decent. We were the only ones in there both times I went though.

I saw this Leroy's place on FB earlier... I'm a sucked for fried chicken so I'll probably give it a try at some point.

I plan on checking it out this weekend. I'm a fried chicken connoisseur myself so I'll report back with my findings.

Report back. If it's decent, I may try it out next time I'm in BR

Are they just charging insane rent at that place? Why is the turnover so quick there?

Like someone else said, I'm guessing Walk On's plays a role in that. If people want something to eat, they just go 2 seconds down the road instead

Went today for lunch. Asked the waitress what she recommended, and she said the cheese logs appetizer and the chicken. I ordered both, along with the andouille sliders. The sliders came out first. A link of andouille, split down the middle, served on a slider bun with lettuce, tomato, bacon, and bbq sauce. It was pretty good; tasted pretty much exactly what you'd expect it to taste like. The cheese logs came out next. They were huge, bigger than the ones at Sammy's. They were served with ranch, and when I requested marinara, I was told they didn't have any. I really didn't care for them... they were almost TOO big, and didn't pair well with the ranch. Next was the chicken, which was served with a cornbread muffin and a side (I chose sweet potato bread pudding.) The chicken was really disappointing; it was similar to Church's but it wasn't even as good. It was just meh. Probably the best thing I had was the sweet potato bread pudding... not sure if it was supposed to be a dessert, but it was offered as a side. It was good, but didn't come with any sort of sauce or anything. Overall I was really disappointed with the place. My wife saw a guy eating the blackened fish and said it looked good, but I'd prefer to get my chicken and seafood someplace else instead of returning here. Seems like it may satisfy the unseasoned college crowd, but for more discriminating palates such as myself, it's a flop IMO.
