Imagine that, the search function actually worked.

I don't know what the hell is up with everyone here, but I like the Lemon Wheat. I'm drinking some now and bout to light up a stogie.

It uses Biere De Garde yeast, so no, it's an ale. I guess supposed to be farmhouse-styled to some degree?

This will come as a complete surprise to everyone, but whatever strain Abita used for their Select biere de garde about a year ago was pretty neutral, relatively speaking for a biere de garde yeast. I'm guessing they ferment it pretty cool. It was a very odd biere de garde. Light in color, lacking a definitive malt backbone and sweetness, and even had citrus, which is out of place.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the mayhaw beer. I've had some damn good mayhaw wines. Abita says it's a strong Belgian ale, which could be any number of things. Crossing my fingers.

Not related but does anyone else think their Restoration Ale runs circles around their other beers?

I know Abita isn't that of too highly on this board but I love a restoration ale.

Not really. I think it's a pretty bad representation of a Pale ale. Their Turbodog is probably one of the better beers they make.

Without knowing anything about this "mayhawk" beer. My guess is that abita will simply add mayhaw grapes to their abbey ale.

They take shortcuts for everything new they try to make, which is why we are always left with a shitty product from them. Somebody at that company needs a big kick in the ass.

If you want four more, you're welcome to swing by my place to pick them up.

I choked down the second of a six pack last night, and I just can't do anymore. There's just a horrible artificial lemon taste to it.

I enjoy a Restoration every now and then, for sure one of the better beers Abita brews.
