As it would be for left extremists, given they have had far more attacks recently.
I don't recall the last bombing by a left leaning extremist, but if there were some, I agree.

So their reporting of the matter, with convenient reference to "right-wing extremists," was the responsible thing to do in your view?

Are you in a public position, or one of authority?

I think speculating who might have done it, a reasonable reporter would look to islamic extremist and anti government extremists as the two most likely suspects in a bombing on American soil.

Makes perfect sense IMO.

Its amazing. If anyone speculates that it could be domestic terrorism, based on possible significance of the site and day, they are "hoping and praying its a white guy"...but if they immediately precede/follow that with possible connections to Islamic terror, its ignored...all in the name of "outrage".

Have you ever noticed how it never enters these same folks' minds that it could possibly be left wing extremists?

They are obviously projecting their wishes that the perps are right-wing, Maybe they'll be right one of these times.

This is paranoia and not based in reality. You want to blame people for what you subscribe their motives to be and not what they actually reported or said.

You are either trolling, trying to hard or haven't watched and listened to any media the last few days.

I'm going to go with all three.

It certainly COULD be "left-wing" extremism. If there was some contextual clue that it was related to a "left wing" cause celebre', I'd have no problem whatsoever suggesting it as such.

But why is it that an honest analysis has to be considered an attack on one side or another? I've plainly said that when I heard about the bombing my first thought was Muslims (based on them being all Muslim-y) and then an anti-government/anti-tax guy (based on it being Tax Day and in Boston, the site of the most famous anti-tax action in American History, the Boston Tea Party).

Why does that label me (or anyone who made that suggestion) a retarded liberal "hoping and praying" that its a Tea Partier?

If that is the same link to the one internet article it does nothing to point to

I should clarify this thought was pointed at the Times and Chris Matthews and national media

Question.

The bombing happened at a sporting event. Not directed at a Gov't building, nor was a political statement or claim made after the bombing. So why is it reasonable to assume "right wing" extremists, over "left wing"?

The majority of major attacks recently have been perpetrated by left leaning people, or those raised in left leaning homes...

Newtown shooter
Dorner
Aurora shooter
Guy that flew his plane into the IRS building

Compared to "right wing" attacks, which happened mostly in the 90's. Since then, most have been by Muslims or left wing.

Nope they will call this a stupid thread and say you need to focus on the victims

Forget the victims of the actual attacks. Pray for the GOP,

This is the same crazy stupid shite i've seen over and over as an idiotic example of painting a broad group of people with one dumb article. Not everyone in a certain party thinks alike. This isn't your sunday church service. I don't think you agree with todd akin or with bush in invading iraq. We can think for ourselves.

Damn it. There are NO reasonable people who think an act of terror by an individual or individuals can be some sort of indictment on a political or religious philosophy. The left has wackos. The right has wackos. There are both Christian and Muslim wackos. It's ignorance or insanity that drives these terrorist's actions.

For review:
quote:

An association fallacy is an inductive informal fallacy of the type hasty generalization or red herring which asserts that qualities of one thing are inherently qualities of another, merely by an irrelevant association. The two types are sometimes referred to as guilt by association and honor by association. Association fallacies are a special case of red herring, and can be based on an appeal to emotion.[citation needed]

It was not speculation, there were articles writen by liberal jounalist "Hoping it was a WHITE AMERICAN". That is a little more than speculation. They didn't say it might be a white American, they said they hoped it was a White American. Big difference between speculation and hoping and praying for something. I love how you libs don't let facts get in the way of a good story, and change the definintion of things to fit your narative!

I actually agree with what you just posted. And it's what is so aggravating to some people. The media doesn't subscribe to that and have been throwing out unreasonable accusations, based on nothing. It is biased and they help shape the thoughts of ALOT of mindless Americans who simply believe whatever they say, just because they're on TV. All anyone has been saying, is that they are wrong for doing so.

Hey, I'm aware of what THAT ONE GUY WROTE...and it has been addressed here a million times and mocked by everyone, of every political bent.

See how you are taking the action of one person and using it to paint an entire swath of people? Seems like the exact same thing you claim to be railing against.

In the beginning it reminded me most of the 1996 attack on the Olympics.

Yes, but none of those seem similar to a bombing like this. Bombings like this in the US, rightly or wrongly, conjur up images i the minds of most Americans of OKC, WTC, and the Olympics.
