The gangs can't steal it if it is in your holster. I guess the days of leaving back-up guns in the truck are coming to an end. Now I have to figure out how to conceal 4 pistols and a AR15

Even gangs aren't this stupid.
Just imagine if there were 100 vehicles at a range and all of them got tagged. Can you imagine how much fuel you would spend driving around all over town trying to find just one of those vehicles. Do you think you could find more than one a day? The best bet would be to just follow someone home.

Attacking a firing range? Please. It would be full of people just looking for an excuse. Just like a cop shop, pawn shop, or gun store.

Yeah, what the "Gun News" article calls an "unofficial gun-lovers public-service announcement" was in reality an urban legend email that's been making the circuit for a couple of years. Nevertheless, it's always good to be vigilant and careful. I follow the advice my father gave me many, many years ago. We'd make a multi-day, cross country trip every summer for "vacation." He'd always park close to the restaurant exit. Whenever we went in to a restaurant to eat, he'd always sit where he could see our car in case anyone tried to mess w/ it. Still good advice..... Thanks, Dad.
