I have one that mounts on the end of a weedeater and it is a man killer

I was actually thinking of buying one of these...too heavy, or what?...

I just got a McLane. 3.5 horsepower. Great edger.

I guess, over time due to having to lift the weight (may be operator error, but I can't get it to cut right with all the weight resting on the wheel). Im 6'2" 240# and in decent shape

I have alot to edge, prolly be fine for shorter distances.

If you have a seedeater that is detachable turn it over 180 and use that. Get a good face shield and it will do the job a lot better then the edger with a medal blade.

I picked up a gas edger with a Briggs and Stratton real cheap at the pawn shop for $35 2 years ago. Been a champ.

I just take my weedeater and turn it sideways.

I bought one a couple hours ago since I already have the weedeater and blower attachments. It kicked my arse.

Just bought one for my Toro 4 stroke. It sucks. Waste of 80 bucks.

You pretty much have to manhandle it since all the weight is in the powerhead. Lines are not straight. I will give it another shot in a couple weeks since my driveway hadn't been edged with a true edger in a couple years and was pretty rough. If not I'll go back to turning the weedeater sideways

Get a wheeled edger. I have had mine for 10 years easy. Its an MTD with B&S engine and it is fine performer. Keep it clean maintain it and you will not have any issues.

Ive had a McClane(sp) for about 10 years. It looks like it was around for the Civil war. It cranks on the first or second pull every time. I can't tell you how many blades I've been through. The best money I've ever spent on lawn equipment.

Got a commercial Mclane 18 years ago with a 3.5 IC briggs...engine gave up the ghost two years ago and I put/adapted a 6hp Honda on it... it's a beast...
