see if you can find the 7870 MYST card (sold out on newegg).
TH has it as the buy @ $235 and the 7950 BOOST card @ $300, they don't recommend anything in between though.

Great build IMO.

Go with CUDA and not AMD. More programs fully ultilize CUDA over AMD.

I would get an 8320 over an 8350 tbh. You could just OC to 4.0... It has the exact same buckets of cache as 8350.

Oh wait..

Only 8GB for a video editing rig? You need more.. Idk what size files but if over 5mins, get 16gb of RAM.

that would be a good idea

OP near a micro center?
FX8320 + gigabyte 990FXA UD3 board = $240 ($268 after tax in Texas. $10 mail in rebate to make it $258)
walk in only

Lol, i know nothing when it comes to pc. I beginning to think a budget build is a really expensive console.

Most gaming rigs end up doubling as powerhouse PCs for video editing, 3d modeling, and even some server functions. Even the budget ones can accomplish this in some form. It's still a computer.

$550 will get you high/ultra in 1080p on virtually anything.

hell i have a $70 cpu, middle of the road AM3 board, and a 1GB 6850 and run skyrim on ultra.
