Bama is the team to beat now, not LSU.

Tragic plane crash involving OK state before a loss to Iowa State that allowed bama to play "the mulligan" - even though they still shouldn't have.

I agree with you overall but I will never believe there is a connection between women's basketball coaches in a plane crash and the football team. The fact is Okie just didn't play great that week and missed an easy FG. It happens.

LSU is still the team to beat and finally with an offensive game plan hopefully sprinkled with surprise/unconventional calls every game the Tigers will again be the best of the best in 2013. [/quote]

Uh no dummy Bama is the 2 time defending national champions, THEY are the team to beat. And will probably not be the best in 2013 especially considering their schedule.

DON'T FORGET...When you beat Alabama..you have to beat the team AND the referee's from the SEC

Why do you think Saban went to Alabama????

Remember when CLM was humorously noted as having a pact w the Devil b/c of all the incredibly "good" things happening to the LSU football program:
Winning BCS title in 2007, beating 'Bama consistently (w Saban in charge), etc. Seemed like he could do no wrong.....

Fast forward a few years and we have Nick the Prick running the show winning consecutive BCS titles, racking up #1 recruiting classes, and getting every conceivable break in the provrebial book on his way to national titles left and right. Now Saban is head of the class and standing on top of the mountain like no one has done before him. Is the tide about to change in Miles favor again? I believe so....

Miles has an experienced and talented senior QB entering the season, had yet another talented and great recruiting haul, and added pro-talent offensive coordinator to go with the Chief on the other side of the ball. Also, everyone is expecting Ala. to blast through their SEC scheduled and represent again in BCS title game. Not so fast my friends.....

LSU is still the team to beat and finally with an offensive game plan hopefully sprinkled with surprise/unconventional calls every game the Tigers will again be the best of the best in 2013.

The tide is turning. Geaux Tigers!

Yes it is turning. Anything with the word 'Tide' in it turns my stomach.

Seriously, let them underrate us. The only two games that we should be an underdog in are at Georgia and at Bama. A&M and Florida, maybe.
I'll be happy if we split those 4, but who knows?, we may win more.

We all know 2014 and 2015 are going to be the bomb, so maybe this year we'll arrive ahead of schedule like we did in 2011.

Just to recap the Gump Dynasty:

2009: McCoy gets hurt, beats Texas
2011: Gets mulligan against LSU
2012: Destroys laughably overrated ND team

It's silly to think there isn't an enormous amount of luck involved to win a national championship.

Yep, but you have to count LSU's great luck too if you are going to play this game.
We had some amazing luck with having some good teams lose to crappy teams to allow us to win our last two championships.

Completely agree. I'm just saying that on controllable aspects (talent, coaching, recruiting) we are about even.
Bama has had the luck lately.. It's about time for some of that to come back our way.

Wouldn't say the tide is turning, more like more of the same

if you consider VT and TCU to be about even for the OOC teams, then consider that Bama plays the bottom two teams from the East while we play the top two....

We may beat them in 2013 and still finish 2nd in the west

Senor Tiger2763;
Appreciate ALL the feedback/posts and solid positive comments + education on what's in store for 2013. Consensus seems to be 'Bama has inside track due to scheduling (all other things being equal) w ATM possibly making a run if they can beat LSU in Tiger stadium (made that one up).

To the point: Our QB outplayed their QB the entire football game with the only glaring exception being the last possession by each team. Mett is ready to step up in 2013.
