It's a slow Saints news day. So here's some NFC South news.

Yahoo Sports

quote:

the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, long regarded as the team most likely to trade for Revis, are apparently growing impatient with the process, three sources said.
quote:

Jets owner Woody Johnson has said he is open to trading Revis or any player to help improve the team, interest in Revis has been limited to Tampa Bay as a serious bidder.

The Buccaneers are not only willing to trade a combination of a first-, third- and sixth-round picks for Revis, they are also willing to pay the corner in the area of $15-16 million per year on a long-term contract.

That's a lot to give up for Revis. I know we are limited by cap space, but its kind of good to see the Saints spending wisely and Atlanta and Tampa giving out big money.

On the other hand, if Tampa doesn't sign him and drafts a CB in the first round, that may allow one of the top DT/DE/OLB/OT to drop to us.

Hell no. The only defensive player I could think of (off the top of my head) I would even consider giving that type of cash to is JJ Watt.

I sure hope they do.

He'll just hold out when Watt signs for more

hoping for this.

I guess they could always go and get another corner in free agency if they can't get Revis. But even then, they would probably need to draft one because they are pretty thin at CB right now anyway.

Me too.

Not sure there are a lot of CB options out there right now. Winfield is still out there, but he's only going to be a stop gap at best.

There are only 9 other players with more PDs than watt, all corners too. He has the most sacks in the league and is one of the better run blocking Dlineman in the league.

I'd say if he repeats this again, he might get paid close to 18m

Jets are retards. Bucs have the picks and the cap room, not many other teams have that so I hope they're not trying to get a bidding war going.

Well, it is the Jets... They have proven that they set the precedent for stupid FO moves.
