I like Garth Brooks and Dwight Yoakem. Prefer ballads to guys singing about their tractors or deer hunting.
Artist suggestions for me?
Or would this be better posted on outdoor board?
Tia.

Is this legitimate? Sorry. I have never posted here and don't know the sarcasm quotient.

100% serious.
They are one of my favorite bands and dear friends of mine. Evan Felker is a wonderful songwriter.

You looking for old or new music?
How familiar are you with country music?

George Strait. Thread over.

Doug Supernaw is one of my favorites. Great ballads.
Tracy Lawrence has some good ones as does George Strait (mostly his older songs).
I'll link some later when I'm on my pc.

Marty Robbins is probably the best known for ballads, but you may not like his style. Best known for his El Paso Trilogy:
Marty Robbins - El Paso
Marty Robbins - El Paso City
Marty Robbins - Feleena
My favorite of his:
Marty Robbins - Big Iron
Marty Robbins - Mr. Shorty
Marty Robbins - Strawberry Roan
Other great ballads:
Johnny Cash - Long Black Veil
Jason Boland - False Accuser's Lament (follow up to Long Black Veil)
Chris Knight - Down the River
Bobby Bare - The Winner
LINK
David Allan Coe - The Ride
Hayes Carll - KMAG YOYO
James McMurtry - Choctaw Bingo
Here's a few that popped up in my mind.
