If anyone here actually knew something it would be illegal to post it. It's called "insider trading".

If anyone on this board knows this, then EVERYONE knows it and the anticipated bounce would already be priced in.

That excludes, as foshizz says, anyone with insider information on this board and that person would be a fool, as well as a criminal, if he disclosed what he knew.

This was more of a sector, throw some stocks out there in sectors expecting 1Q growth for me to then go research kind of a thread.

How do you PM people on here?

I'm betting on AAPL having a blowout earning report. I haven't bought yet because I'm also betting it will reach 52 week lows. Almost did today but ...

We need some resolution on PM. Are we talking precious metals, private member, or personal message? And everyone knows being a member of the private board will require the member to have bitcoins or they simply cannot afford the membership

This is my opinion, so take it as that:

Say you started (with a little money) and "picked stocks" over a 20 year period. I would feel safe to say that 9 times out of 10, the investor would have been better off indexing the S&P.

No link, no picture I can post, just some good hard looks into "professional stock picks" and watching amateur investors make bad decisions left and right.

Every time you think about buying on earnings for whatever reason, just realize that there is someone on the flip-side with their own justification as to why they are selling.

True. But this way is more fun in the short term. This isn't any retirement funds or anything like that.

No. I've come out slightly ahead. Some years I don't though.

Never will understand this logic.

It's all "a little" money until you add it all together.

Just go to the casino, you won't have to wait that way.

I'll bite. I thought it interesting that Alcoa (AA) was up today, after a bad jobs report, at .24%.

They will report earnings first, and maybe they did OK 1st Q. If it heads back to $9, that's a nice 8.5% gain.

If it's that tiny then you're just looking for something to do with your time.

I recommend going to night school, or starting a blog about what you do for living, etc.

Or rooting for the Tigers.
