Hitchcock advice (his best films)

So the director thread got me thinking...I don't think I own any Hitchcock movies. Also haven't seen many of his films either. So if I were to buy some of his movies (not just to have, but to watch), where should I start?
Also, I mainly am talking about his classics or best movies...I don't need to see all of them (I can picture iwy listing about 40
).
Just glancing at his filmography, and based on things I've seen on this board, I'm thinking these so far:
Rope
Dial M for Murder
Rear Window
Vertigo
The Birds (seen)
Psycho (seen)
North by Northwest
Added:
Notorious
Strangers on a Train
Shadow of a Doubt
What else?
And feel free to critique other peoples' suggestions...I'd like as many opinions as possible. I'm thinking that I may just acquire a solid collection and then pick a weekend to just chill at the house and watch them all.

ETA: Also, if color vs. black and white comes into play, recommend one.

That's probably THE best movies, but...
Notorious is sorely underrated, as in, it migh be his most complete film front to back.
Strangers on a Train is creepy and fun. Saboteurs, if you can get a copy, is quite awesome.
Also, THe 39 Steps and The Trouble With Harry are both worth a watch.

Strangers on a Train and Notorious. Strangers on a Train is actually my second favorite Hitchcock film after Vertigo. Hitchcock really earned his "Master of Suspense" nickname with that one.

With the mountain of folklore surrounding Psycho, you'd probably want to see it first.
Rebecca is one of my favorites. It's a great examination of his early style, and another incomprehensible example of his superhuman ability of being allowed to make movies that have appalling subject matter.
And just as a story, Rebecca is every man's worst nightmare - a woman who tells you, on your wedding night, that she's secretly a freaky slut who has no intention of changing her ways, that she intends to openly humiliate you and that her favorite frick is the incestuous affair she's been having with her brother. (no spoilers. you know this in the first 5 minutes)

I would start with Psycho and Vertigo and then move on to Strangers on a Train (apparently one of Reggie Miller's favorites as per recent thread), Notorious, Rebecca, Rear Window, North by Northwest.....just watch them all, you can't go wrong. Freaux said it, Stangers on a Train is alot of fun to watch. One word: carousel.

Saw those, but they come with lots of ones I don't really need (or want). I think I may start with this one since it is 5 movies on my list, and then work my way out from there with the other two...and then see where this thread takes me as far as what others to add to the list.
