I haven't really found a clear cut answer to a question I had about the ranking system of League.
I've been playing on and off for a while and decided to go ahead and do the 10 provisional matches to see where they put me.
How do they rank you in the respective league? I've played 8/10 and have gone 4 and 4 so far, and have played pretty well in all of them really, didn't feed - always a positive K/D.
So what I'm asking is if I go 5-5, am I put into a bronze league? I won't really pursue ranked afterwards really, but was wondering where I would be put.

From what I've read... it depends on the MMR of the people you are matched against.
Beating good people will place you higher than beating bad people.
I went 5-5 last season and was put in silver III. But I did it at the very end of the season.
5-5 this season with no prior ranked experience will probably get you between bronze 2 and silver 4.
Riot will place you lower than where you "should be" to give you a chance to climb.
It's really random thougb.

I see what your saying. I pull up Lolnexus for most of the matches, and I did notice a MMR number under our teams. I wasn't sure what that was.

That MMR number is calculated by each website. It varies depending on what website you are on. A good estimate would be to see what your teammates and opponents rank is. You will be placed around what they are.

Don't be afraid of being place in Bronze (you probably will get high bronze to low silver). It's not too hard to climb. Plus, bronze games are often filled with the best plays in the lol world.

After some matches, in the stats chat box, I've seen some players say things like "Man, bronze is going to be fuuuuun." Thanks for the info guys!

I've never played in bronze before, I've never even tested into silver.. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd make another account and level it, but jesus, i'm approaching 1500 wins on my main with a slew of ranked as well. So much time put in on it

I ended up losing my last 2 matches, pretty badly actually, ended at 4-6 but they still put me in Silver IV. I was kind of suprised.
