We go from having one 5* and six 4*'s, to.....one 5*, four 4*'s, and three 3*'s since our last commitment. Our last commitment was a 3* and he was the only one listed at that, but yesterday we had 2 and now today it has LSU having three 3*'s on 247.

Just wondering how a couple of our 4 stars turned into 3 stars in the last few days.

24/7 sports is where Im getting this from

Pretty sure the last two commits we got were both 3*s. Alexander, Upchurch, and they finally counted Hardemann in 24/7.

We have 1 5*, 3 4* and 4 3* on 24/7. Alexander, Upchurch, Hardeman and Rhaheed were never 4* on there. Rhaheed just got rated a 87 3*.

Are you talking about the composite rankings?

The front page is listing the 247 rankings now rather than the composite, all rankings are the same.

It's too early to be worrying about ratings...

Did anyone think White was a 5* when he committed last year before everything came out on him?

I could care less about the star ratings. But can someone clarify: Will Upchurch be in this class? For some reason, my understanding was that he would not be. I forget why. Thanks.

i don't care what the rankings gave our players, if our coaches saw enough potential for them to play at LSU and earn a scholly, then I put my faith and trust into our coaches.

And why does ESPN always have us ranked so low in the team rankings?

We could have the number one class on every site except ESPN and they will have us rated #11 and do a story saying we aren't getting enough talent to keep up with the rest of the SEC.

Very simple CatsGoneWild, they didn't commit to Bama. This whole star rating is comical to watch. You watch how often a Bama recruit goes from a 3 to a 4 star or 4 to a 5 as soon as they commit to Bama. That is why I don't even bother looking, well let me correct that. I use to look at the ratings but it is too funny to watch how things evolve according to who they commit to. Just so long as we win I really don't care about it.

This Bama bump argument is very played out and kind of hints at insecurity. Does it exist? Maybe and Rivals once basically admitted it(at least one guy did) but I'm gonna go with results and the results say Bama has won 3 of the last 4 national titles(including embarrassing us in New Orleans) so I'd say all those bumped recruits and #1 classes were pretty damn close to accurate. No need to be insecure about it. We just need to beat them on the field and then maybe we can complain about something.

As for our commits dropping, the only commit that really dropped at all is Voorhies but he's still a 4*. He's a kid that was ranked too high to start and now that others are being evaluated and bursting on the scene, he is dropping down to his more accurate ranking, which is towards the 200 range, maybe lower. Upchurch, Rhaheed, Alexander and Hardeman will all have plenty of opportunities to show scouts what they are made of this year. If they deserve to jump then they will most likely.

I do may own evals and give stars that way and use the sites as a comparison and reference and feel that people should do the same. In the end all that matters is how we personally feel about the kids, not some site that is about making money.

My thoughts

Upchurch-high 3 right now. Need to see more to give him 4
Clapp-solid 4
Washington-mid 4 top TE I've seen in the class so far
Rhaheed-low 4 imo but I can see the 3 based on the fact that he is an unknown working in space
Paris-High 4 to me
Hardeman-low 4. The 3* is based mainly on his size. 5'8 kids tend to not get the benefit of the doubt
Voorhies-solid 4. Not a blow you away type athlete
Alexander-low 4 for me. Upside and the kid knows how to play. Perfect system fit though that usually isn't an influence on the rankings.

It's way to early to worry about rankings. They will move around constantly, mainly to get people to talk about it. After the summer when they go to all the camps and their senior seasons start we can really start to discuss.

On 2/17 Ed Paris was 247 #9. He commits to LSU on the 25th I think... shortly after he drops to #16.

Do I give a shite? No. Do I find it interesting? Yes. No games were played during that time, so how did someone have NEW film to "adjust" their "opinion" of his ranking?

Conversely, David Sharpe wasn't even ranked in the top 50 on 2/27... gets an offer from a few teams, including BAMA, and now he's #8. Again, no games were played. Apparently the sheeple that make the rankings must have discovered some high school footage they didn't have before.

But let me give equal time for the Gumps... Bo Scarbrough was already committed to Bama on 2/27 and was ranked 17th. Now he's 24th... without decommiting. But thats just an anomaly.

On 2/27 Noil wasn't in the top 50. Now he's 17th and with a LSU "warmer" rating. Course they have Bama as "warm". Curious to see what his ranking woulf be if he was already committed to LSU.

But ya, it's all a joke.

I don't know VA, check out the bump the CB from Georgia got after he committed to Bama. No camps or anything and jumped 50 spots in the rankings.

Yup, Bessent wasn't ion the top 50 on 2/25. Commits to the gumps on 3/12... BAM! jumps up like you said.

Hmmm, imagine that.

I think all the movement in the rankings is hilarious. I mean, how can anyone move up or down when they aren't even doing anything?

New film pops up, they are going on a lot of unofficial visits right now where new things are found out (like true size), etc...

They aren't robots. How easy do you think it is to review hundreds of different players. On top of that some players don't send in highlights till way later. It's not like they can download all the game film they want.
