We've had the weekend to ourselves and it has been glorious .

Man my ocd is really getting the best of me... I've been fricking with how my cables are arranged behind the panel for over an hour this morning.

When I do a rebuild of mine I generally spend hours routing cables.

Wish the R4 had more tie wrap points.

I'm probably due to open mine up and clean the dust.

Profile 1 in the Bios set up shows the RAM speed at 1600,

Wish I'd seen this thread 3 weeks ago.. Just built my first machine and kinda winged it.
Just need a graphics card now. I have no idea which to go with?!

Weird... Pick the one that shows 2133. Or otherwise manually input the settings yourself.
Posted on 11/23/14 at 12:52 pm to ILikeLSUToo
Both profile 1&2 show 1600, so what settings should I use to get to the 2133?
I've tried the manual setting in the bios and cannot see any way to change it past 1600
It won't manually let me change the voltage, mulitplier or the frequency.

Doesn't make sense. verify you received the correct RAM?
To change shite in bios:
M.I.T.\Advanced Voltage Settings\DRAM Voltage control
M.I.T.\Advanced memory Settings\Channel A memory sub timings (and channel B)
And then under Advanced Frequency Settings to set the system memory multiplier.
You have to put XMP back to disabled to do that.

I think I finally figured it out, I had to change the "view" in the bios to get to the correct screen to change it, the classic view didn't have the option.
Does this look right? The NB frequency (whatever that is) looks high.

We need Pics when you are done.

Your timings are wrong. CL needs to be 9, tRCD and tRP need to be 11, and tRAS needs to be 31. Make sure your voltage is 1.6 and not lower.

It's exactly where it needs to be. That's your "uncore" frequency, which handles all of the on-die functions that the core doesn't handle -- so L3 cache, memory controller, and others. Your uncore frequency will be the same as your core frequency unless you overclock. And generally when you overclock, you want to increase uncore along with it, though you may not always get uncore/CPU core at 1:1, you want to make sure your uncore is always at least within 300 MHz of your core.

My parents are being nice to me for Xmas this year
Getting me the Asus RT-68R (refurb for $130 on newegg) and a 2tb USB 3.0 external HDD that I'll use as a network storage drive for all my movies and music. Nice to be getting presents from my parents still!

NB is probably just downclocking based on usage.

Thanks you two for your help I think I'm gonna superglue the case shut so nothing changes now.
