Dylan Bundy Question

Is he a September call up? If so I don't think I'm gonna keep him on my roster and pick up Teheran instead.
Also, we do 5x5 head to head with daily lineup changes. Is it worth having a solid RP on my bench like a Venters or Pestano to put in daily?
thanks guys

You should definitely go with Teheran over Bundy.
Pestano is worth having because Chris Perez is shaky and might start out on the DL.

I'm not even sure he will be the 1st call up over Gausman.

appreciate it!
think I'm gonna go get boggs now instead of pestano just caue Motte is almost certain to start on the DL

With the spring he's having, I'm surprised Teheran wasn't drafted. Even if he's called up by June, he's not likely to make a significant impact this year. So if it's a non-keeper, I'd definitely make that move.

Why you always gotta disagree with me brah?

I think there is a 0% chance Gausman is up before Bundy.
Bundy will be up pretty soon. Any contending team with a rotation with Jason Hammel as your #1 and one that includes Arrietta and Tillman will need help ASAP.
To say he wont have an impact is crazy. A guy like Matt Harvey helped win fantasy championships last year.

I don't disagree with your premise about the BAL rotation or the possibility of minor leaguers' fantasy success.
I just think a lot of Baltimore fans and employees are coming to the realization that Gausman may be the more MLB-ready prospect and quite possibly the highest upside arm in their system.

Based on what? Guasman has 15 minor league innings under his belt.
Bundy absolutely dominated 100+ innings in the minors.
Im sincerely curious as to what makes people think that about Gausman

Dylan Bundy has pitched all of like 15 innings above Single A ball. So like usual everyone is blowing their load prematurely. He very well may come up this year, but its a fairly large question mark on how much of an impact he will have.
Gausman is going to be a little more polished as a pitcher than Bundy but I doubt he makes it up before him. Both are very young and the orioles need to be careful with developing them. Gausman's "stuff" is just as good if not better than Bundy's. Gausman needs to work on his keeping focused during his outings.
I think its ok to stash him if you have a deep bench, not something I would do but I believe that prospects are continually overvalued in fantasy baseball.

I wouldn't go out of my way to own any prospects in non keeper leagues.
Of course if everyone took your pessimistic view and didn't "value" prospects, no one would have ever owned Trout, Harper, Strasburg, Stanton, Heyward, Castro, etc before they were called up. More of the "can't misses" actually live up to the billings than dont.
Im guessing Todd Van Poppel burned you in a keeper league in the early 90s. You are so bitter towards young guys

Uh no they don't.
I didn't say I didn't value them. I said they are over valued. HUGE difference. I took a late flyer on Trout last year in the Votto is a catcher roto league and he helped me comeback to get a 3rd place finish.
He's talking about bundy helping him THIS season. The odds are stacked in my favor that he won't be of much help.

Hold up, did you really just try to say that Barry is pessimistic???

I came here to say this. I even had the audacity to say Trout would not be worthwhile to own.

Bundy pitched in the majors last year. I don't think it would be to far fetched to say he could potentially start 12-15 games

I think Gauseman is up before Bundy. Johnny Gomes was quoted as saying that Gauseman had better stuff this spring training. Word was that the Orioles coaches were trying to find a way to keep Guaseman up for the beginning of the season, but they knew the front office wouldn't allow it. Both very good pitchers. Gauseman is more polished and has great stuff.

Still no way you take Bundy or Gauseman over Teheran.
