Here is the problem, if you didn't watch it close to its original release then you wouldn't understand how groundbreaking it was. Instead you have watched a lot of movies that have copied the style and tone, and now that you so the progintor its hard for you to appreciate it.

My brother and I get into the argument all the time about music. He once told me that if he could go back in time he would tell himself to ignore Green Day and only listen to Wilco growing up. I tell him constantly, you can't enjoy the destination if you are unwilling to appreciate the trip to get there.

I'd rate it after several tarantino flicks but it's still amazing.

Wtf does green day have to do with Wilco. I saw the movie for the first time 4 or 5 years ago still thought it was amazing in its own right

My point was that you have to endure some of the less fantastic points of pop culture to appreciate the great triumphs. Resevoir Dogs was like the model-T for modern Tarantinoesque dialog in movies. Someone who has only seen something like Inglorius Bastards, a Ferrari by many standards, might not see the transition as easily.

I have nothing against Green Day, but in terms of music, Wilco is infinitely better. However, if you didn't listen to less sophisticated stuff then you probably won't be able to appreciate the great stuff.
