One of the few movies I've walked out on.

It was one of Tarantino's absolute best films.

I was the same way. The dialogue annoyed me (too much pointless ranting) and I didn't make it past 30 minutes. Not saying that it sucked, but it wasn't for me.

Thats my favorite part of the movie. The diner scene when Mr. Pink is ranting about tips is the closest thing to a dialogue that would happen in real life that I have seen in a film.

it was the best part. they talk about shite that people actually talk about irl, not stupid shite that serves only to advance the plot

It was slow, talky, tried to be full of memorable one-liners that failed, and if it weren't for the pornographic, gratuitous, redundant violence would have taken about 1/5th the screen time.

I think the people who "loved it" are addicted to porn.

I get that, but to me it felt like out of place observational comedy.

I might give it another shot at some point but at the time it couldn't keep my interest.

there's not even that much violence. ear scene, white shooting cops, and mexican standoff. that is nothing at all

Well, as an anecdote, I fit this description - "loved it," addicted to porn.

The dialogue in the early Tarantino films is most of what made him a great film maker. It doesn't get better than Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, as far was dialogue goes. jmo.
