Menu ideas for 7 or so people - one pot preferably

Hosting 3 year old birthday party in afternoon, having extended family stay around for dinner. Have done chicken sauce piquant and masamman curry recently for them? Ideas?

Here's something I've been wanting to cook for a group:

Moroccan Merguez Ragout with Poached Eggs

I had my 3 year old's birthday party at my house Saturday. Might be a little different deal than yours, but here's what I did. Party was at 3:30. I put two big pig butts on the smoker at dawn. Got the wife to make some bleu cheese cole slaw. Went and got a big jumper thing. Crumb snatchers desended on us at 3:30. Had the grill fired up and cooked them some hotdogs. I pulled apart a butt, savved it up, and put it in the crockpot next to some Hawaiian rolls and the cole slaw. Pulled pork sliders were available to grown folk. Wife had all the dips, cakes and whatnot tended to. The party goes great, eventually runs it's course. Except for the closest friends and family. Beer and vodka immerge. Then wine. Then the second pork butt and more cole slaw and Hawaiian rolls. Then low and behold it all fanishes. And takes the Saturday with it. Good times.

Never heard of it, but I am intrigued.

I never heard of Tikka Masala but made it after seeing a thread on here.

I like trying strange new things.

Would pulled pork not work for 3 year olds? I was planning the same for my 1 year olds bday. Didnt think it would be something little ones wouldnt eat. (Ones with kids older than mine of course)

Sure they can eat pulled pork. I've got a 3 and a 5 that will tear it up. I just thought dogs would more widely accepted kid fare. As it turned out only about 5 of the 20 some odd kids ate a hotdog. But they all toe the cake and ice cream up.

Made this green chicken chili this weekend with a few modifications. LINK

I cooked it stove top and added some serrano, poblano and red peppers. Turned out really nice.
