I definitely don't think one homerun makes the kid an All-American, but the kid has performed well in limited action. 5 hits in 9 at bats, he played a lot last year, so it's not like he's a rookie. Could we possibly see him more at the DH spot in SEC play? Has CPM made any comments regarding Foster?

Foster, Stevenson, & McMullen really wouldn't be a terrible OF, and they are all benchwarmers now.

I think the problem is finding a spot for him to play. Who do you remove from the everyday lineup to insert Foster in for?

That is an easy question.

Didn't Foster get yanked for Arby Fields after Foster misplayed a fly ball that almost cost us in game 3 at South Carolina last year? Mainieri will never forget that.

I would certainly take Foster over Edward as RH DH any day of the week. I hope this weekend is the last we'll see of Edward in SEC play (in games not decided at least).

I think you continue with Moore against RHP and platoon Chinea and Foster against LHP at DH to see who wins the spot there.

How does that at all answer the question I asked?

As the season wears on you will see more of him. I think he will be used to allow other players to get a day of rest. The LSU baseball outfield this year is kind of like the LSU football RB situation has been the past few years.

How about DH against lefties. Chinea and Edward are not tearing the cover off the ball.

They aren't going to sit Rhymes or Laird. That leaves the guy with 14 strikeouts to 15 hits and the only error in the outfield.

I think this would be a good option. Obviously we see more RHP than LHP, so I automatically had Moore in my head. But this would certainly be a good time to get him some ABs.

Oh, you mean the guy with the .449 OBP (third highest on the team)? Seems like a smart move.

Also has the only assist among the starting OF. And he gets to way more balls than Rhymes ever thought of getting to.

CPM has made it abundantly clear that Rhymes will play the field and will rarely DH. Knowing that, you have to have two out of Sciambra, Laird, Stevenson, or McMullen on the field for defense. No way you plug in Foster along side Rhymes and leave that much defense on the bench. The only logical choice for Foster would be DH. I just like what the kid is doing with the bat right now and would like to see if he could do it on a consistent basis.

I guess struggling to find room for a hot bat to get into the lineup is a good problem to have.

Agree with you 100% on everything you said there.
