Heading to the Camp in G.I. this weekend for the start of Snapper Season. Gonna find out if the Feds will be effing with fishermen beyond the old 3 mile State line. As of right now, the LWF says we can fish out to 10 miles and keep 3 per person. Below is a link to the free "Landing Permit" required, in addition to your normal Fishing License.

Landing Permit

Will report back Monday and hopefully all goes well.......

Not worth it to me. I'll let others "test the waters"...

Will let you know how it goes.

The Feds have basically said that because of budget cuts, there is no way they have the manpower to enforce it. We will have our paperwork in order and as far as we are concerned, we are legal.

So what's the deal? The feds don't recognize the LWF 10 mile state line?

Woah! Thank you for calling this out. Unfortunately, some clown set a damn wedding shower for opening day of snapper season.

No. They only recognize the old 3. The question is whether or not there will be feds between 3 and 10 checking it out. Could get messy. I don't see Coast Guard guys wanting to frick with this.

I'll be fine unless they are stopping people at Belle Pass.

The green jeans I spoke to a couple of weeks ago definitely implied the fight isn't over yet. Remember when PETA was threatening to send divers to cut lines for STAR?

They can check all they want at the Marina. I think the only question is what happens if they check you between the 3 mile line and the 10 mile line.......

Not necessarily. They're legal for the state. As far as the feds go, anything over 2 per person is illegal regardless of where they were caught. This weekend will be interesting to say the least.

What up Tree! Gonna wack a few red beauties this weekend brother! Like someone said they don't have the manpower to be all over the gulf checking the 10 mile limit. But there will be a few of them out there. Hence the harrasment at he docks checking everything else..
