Buddy of mine has a 19' CC, I go out in it once every month or two out in west bay, Galveston.

Doesn't handle chop well at all. Floats high, flat bottom, fairly vertical sides makes it a very, very wet boat. Planed out, it can get through 18" of water w/o a jack plate (has a 125 on the transom.). Other than that, whatcha wanna know?

that is good info right there. Just shopping around, saw one on Craigs (in the fla key area) and looked pretty nice. Would be using it in skinny water but would also like to fish reefs/wrecks and would most likely need a better ride.

thanks again

my friend has a 22.3 with a 225 Opti....it runs mid 60's.

The longer the boat the dryer the ride (rule of thumb I heard once)

He will go offshore in it on calm days and not get wet.

The only bay stealth worth owning is a bay bolt. Pretty sweet boats.

I had a splatter coat hull. Was big and very heavy. Nit the nice smooth inner hull. They are just OK. But much better out there for the money. What kind of price you you in?

This is my experience with them. A family member has a different make, but same hull.
Gotta say though, I love fishing off of that boat. It has a lot of fishing space, sits pretty low in the water, took waves fairly well (did get you wet though).

If the price is right, I'd buy one. That being said, I do think there are faster, more versatile boats out there for the same price.

The one I see on Craig's is $29k.
Not a ton of goodies, but newer rig.....

First off VIP the maker of Bay Stealth is no longer in business. So there is no warranty on any Bay Stealth boat any more.

However I have had a 2430 for 15 years and I'll put it up against any other bay boat. Is it as fancy/nice as a Ranger/Triton nope. However it's a fairly dry ride, lots of room in it and because it's a heavy boat it takes slop VERY VERY well. I hunt/fish primarily in Venice and it gets tested in slop regularly. They are not a top name in boats any more but at least as far as my boat goes I absolutely love it. I would not just write a bay stealh off.
