I know it's been discussed here. But he still could up his draft stock a ton by coming back next year, shite he'll actually get to work on opposing teams one on one when Odo or Malone is out there.
Why in the hell would he declare now??
nb4 Germans....whatever...blah blah...

I have been saying for a long time I don't think he is going. I dont think so. Even before the tournament I didn't think he would.

If he aspires to D-League filler pay, then I'd say he's ready.

He should declare. It is a weak draft and his stock will not rise if he stays.

Not going pro in basketball. Heck, not projected by anyone to go in the NBA draft. Most have him rated to between 80-100.

And yet he's nowhere to be found in most mock drafts.

I think the young man's financial picture is more determinative than his draft evaluation. Everyone said the same things about Ham last year. JOBIII is going to get paid to play next year if he truly needs money.

Come on, let's be realistic. He's a strong defensive player and rebounder, but his offensive skills are limited. Maybe he would be a lower round pick and make a roster for a couple years, but he's nowhere near a first rounder. And I actually love the guy. So please take off the purple and gold glasses and glimpse reality.

He's effective as a blue-collar type player, getting rebounds and put-backs, but when we try to run our Offense through him and let him create on his own, I close my eyes and hope for the best.

People using the weak draft are simply not making sense. He wont be drafted even with the weak draft, so it doesn't matter. If he wants to play, he can go over seas, but he might as well try and make a nmae for himself in NCAA basketball first.

Far more people are claiming hes thought of goin than hes hinted about goin.
We are sitting around saying hes not good enough when hes nevwr said he was

He isn't ready, but I still think he's gone.
I will be shocked if he's back next year!

I hope he doesn't go pro. He can be a Brandon Bass type player for us next year and be a lock to be drafted. He's just like Bass; undersized and plays power forward. I actually went to the same high school as Brandon and he and my little brother both played on the same high school team. He told my brother when he played for NO that I he could have done it all over again, he would have not left early.
I hope O'bryant think hard about his decision and make the right one.

If he declares now, he'll already have the mindset of Bass.

It all comes down to money and academics. If he needs money and/or not fond of going to class, he'll declare for the NBA. Might be a team out there that would take him as a project late in the 2nd. If not, he can play overseas.
His best option is to stay and try to improve his game. But I said that about Hamilton, too.

Yep . Like I posted, Bass admitted he should have stayed an extra year. The time it took Brandon to get where he is now he could have come back another year or two to work on his craft. JOB can work on improving his stock next year as well as getting the recognition by being on a better team.
ETA: imagine if Bass would have come back one more year. It would have been him, D. Mitchell, Tyrus, T. Mitchell, Temple, and Davis. I could only dream about that final four year.

No way! He has the skill set but its not fine tuned. He may never get there. We got guys coming in that might take playing time next year.
