In this case, Arkie would win a 3 way tie with LSU and UGa because they went 1-1 vs. Florida, while LSU went 0-1 and UGa went 0-2. That explains how Arkie wins, but doesn't explain how we get seeded ahead of UGa with the same winning percentage (.000) against Florida and a head-to-head loss to Georgia.

After Arkie is given the highest seed of the three you can use the head to head tie breaker to break a two team tie, which is UGA. If I said that LSU would be ahead of UGA, I believe that I am wrong. I am not sure if 0-1 is better than 0-2. Either way, I see UGA's chances of winning their next two around 5%.

I went back and removed that sccenario because I honestly don't know if 0-1 is better than 0-2 or not. If it is not better than UGA would win that tie breaker. As I said earlier though, I don't see UGA winning both nor do I see Arkansas losing to aTm.

More good opportunities will come when the other guys get going with more opportunities

I agree. Much of the offense last night was run for Carmouche, especially when JOB wasn't playing well/foul trouble. So Hickey's role was to move the ball around to give him that opportunity, or give the extra pass to get A&M defense to commit and give a different player a look at a shot.

I thought he did well at that, especially when A&M went to the trap on him. He always beat that trap leaving his 2 defenders behind, so 2 less defenders on anyone else for a little while. He creates opportunities that way as well, not sure if people give him credit for that type of thing.

However, he is a catalyst for the team when he goes on a spree.
Likewise when he makes ridiculous steals.

They are 9-8 Should be 12-5 (Auburn, Georgia, & USC)

A stretch to say they should have won all 3 or 5 close games because you could do that with some of their close wins, but I could agree to say they should be at least 11-6 and tied for 3rd. The AU & USCe losses hurt.

But to even be where they are deserves kudos!

Moving to the 7 seed would give LSU a game against the 10 seed followed by a game against the second seed, which will either be Kentucky or Missouri.

That's not true.. Alabama is actually in a good position to get the 2 seed.

You are right. I didn't really dive into it, but honestly if the games go the way I feel they will Alabama will be the 2 seed.

Kentucky over Georgia (tonight)
Florida over Kentucky
Tennessee over Missouri
LSU over Ole Miss

good catch!

Thought some of you who dont venture onto the recruiting board much might be interested in this. Tim Quarterman you can watch live on Saturday, here are the details...

I think we need Hickey to score for us to win the SEC Tournament
Just food for thought:
In SEC Play:
Hickey takes 10+ shots: 6-8
Hickey takes < 10 shots: 4-0

Carmouche:
10+ shots: 5-2
< 10 shots: 4-5 (lost game he didn't play)

I do agree that Hickey could be one of those players who could win games when on a streak, but I would like to see more of a "controlled streak" if that makes sense.

nice work mmcgrath! I agree that Hickey doesn't need to shoot more than 10. That means he is reaching for shots, however, he should be getting at least 1 point per shot. I know Carmouche has been averaging almost 2 points per shot over the last 6 games, something like 1.9 pps. Really would love for Hickey to get about 7 shots and 10-12 points per game.

Joe Lunardi's next four out include these teams followed by their current RPI: Arkansas (83), Arizona St.(97), Maryland (86) and Baylor (69). LSU's RPI is 80.

Seems winning at TAMU helped out greatly, jumping almost ten spots.

This morning, he also considered Providence (79) and Iowa (76)

Our problem is bad losses and good wins. We are 1-5 versus top 50 and have multiple 200+ RPI losses. It's gonna be hard to make up ground with both of those issues, even with a weak bubble.

Yes we need them to lose Saturday to have a shot at the #7 seed.

I think we are in good position to get the 7 seed still. UGA still plays @ Bama and Tennessee plays at home. With both of those games being senior nights and teams that play well at home, I think we can get the wins that we need.

We need 3 home teams, on senior nights to win:

Tennessee (Missouri is 2-7 on road; Tenn is 12-3 at home)

Alabama (UGA is 3-9 on road; Bama is 13-3 at home)

LSU (Ole Miss is 6-7 on road *lost last 5 road games*; LSU is 14-2 at home)

SOS, if Georgia would lose to Alabama and A&M beats Arkansas, we are 7 seed correct?

Arkansas doesn't mean anything to LSU. Win or lose we beat them out (if LSU wins).

Tennessee we need to win, because a three way tie between Arkansas, Tennesssee, and LSU gets us put into last of the three.

We would still like Arkansas to lose because if Ark, UGA, and Tenn lose, we would still be 7th.
