Kim was interviewed by Deke on WWL last night, talking mostly about the Women's final four in New Orleans and other basketball subjects. However, she mentioned twice, without being prompted, that her son would be playing baseball for LSU next year. She sounded really proud and enthusiastic about it.

Anyone would be proud if their kid was going to play at top baseball school in the country.

I wish we could have lured her from Baylor. She's a great coach.

She was a hell of a player back in her day as well, both at the high school and college level.

No all la tech grads do not hate lsu. Many graduated from both schools. What most get tired of is the constant banter of lsu being the best school. I would contend that tech does a better job of teaching than lsu ever has. Kim should have been the coach at tech. But something happened, don't know what it was. It was not lost on those who followed the tech program. What she wore The night she won her first national championship. Powder blue.

That explains both the greatest men's and women's basketball players in Techs history sending their kids to LSU right ?

She must enjoy going to Omaha.

I've never heard that Tech people hated LSU. I've heard animosity from USL people but not Tech.

I grew up up there. Trust me, they hate LSU. They actually believe Tech is a better school and are bitter that LSU receives all the recognition as THE university in the state. Their fans are always filling the comments section of the newspapers and tv stations up there bitching about them covering LSU so much. Check out their fan site. Every page has at least one thread of LSU bashing.

Look at all the bashing of certain schools or certain coaches on "The Rant". That doesn't prove that most LSU fans dislike those schools or coaches. Just the vocal ones that like to bitch. ;)

I went to tech. HUGE LSU fan. I grew up in BR. Problem with tech - they don't appreciate their grads and especially those of us who played college sports for them. Completely turning their back to us on so many levels. It is a shame. I enjoyed my time in Ruston, but tech will NEVER get any more money from me.

Regarding Kim, she was offered the head coaching job at tech, slap in the face offer. Baylor offered her a much better deal.

I knew her in college when I was there. Had several classes together. When she took the Baylor job, I called her and chatted with her about the job and how excited I was for her.

She is a class act - through and through. By the way, her daughter plays basketball for her at Baylor. And no, it is not mommy ball. She is very good.

She is one helluva coach and determined. I was stunned when I read Kim Hasn't Spoken To Her Dad in 25 Years but I can understand.
