What the fizzuck does this have to do with anything? Smith is old, out of shape, and overpaid. You can follow his fat arse out of town. How about them apples?

it matters because we are short on guys to play DE.

why not just out right cut him instead of asking him to restructure??

hmmm, maybe because they need bodies?

The fact is, you have no idea if Jordan is stronger than Smith. How do you know?

Because I watched him play, and that son of a bitch holds his damn ground. He will walk some damn people down the line of scrimmage and make a damn tackle.

Cutting Smith and Vilma would actually be more expensive than re-working deals. Yes, both moves save cap-space, but with new deals, we can keep them and pay less money than cutting them. It's obvious that Payton wants these guys are, at the very least to be locker room presences. Two high character vets in the last years of their contracts on (potentially) lower salaries and cap hits? Sure, why not. It's not like they were the only two problems on D last year. Sorry if someone already said this. Thread is kinda long.

I think Jordan is going to EXCELL as a DE in the 3-4 for RR or anyone.
Dude has been getting better ever game he has played.
I think time will show we got one right on the def. side in the draft for a change.

not sure what i have "lost".

Ive merely backed up my opinion with facts, which you and others have failed to do.

"derp derp, he's stronger, I just know he is!!!!!"

"derp derp, he's not big enough!! but look at this picture how fat he is!!!"

Facts of a handful of players that willy was still smaller than most? I could double your list of bigger bodies but its useless

You have yet to prove that he's the perfect 3-4 DE. Maybe you were thinking of Justin Smith.

But you're right, 9 years ago Smith benched more reps so he's stronger.

I still hear it from people that he's a disappointment. all because he doesn't get sack #'s doesn't mean he's a bust. #1 rated run stopping DE in the league if I remember correctly.

All of that while putting pressure on the QB and getting some sacks while our "primary" guys are getting less than him a season.

I think he's about what he's listed, honestly it's a slippery slope of what any other player weighs as well opposed to what's listed too.

funny you mention Justin Smith, he wasn't good until he went to the 3-4

...and he and Will Smith are the same size. When i called him the perfect 3-4 DE, i was talking about his size.....and you think Justin Smith is the perfect DE just proves my point

Justin Smith destroys everything that's in front of him. If Will does that, I'll eat crow gladly. Until then, I'll just point and laugh at you.
