Look i know he's talented and if we traded back to get a 2nd i wouldnt mind using it on him.

But he has shown we can't trust him to make good decisions in college. How is he expected to make good decisions on his own with a couple million dollars in his bank account?

Payton and Brees can't babysit the kid 24/7

we took carl nicks.

I don't think we'll end up drafting him cause we don't have the correect resources to do it so i'm gonna put that on the record. I just think Tyrann will succeed in the NFL and he could succeed here as well.

Haha they might not be able too, but somebody can. And TM has said that he is willing to do whatever a team wants to keep him in order. I've already said I don't really like him at the Saints. He needs to get away from Louisiana and NOLA.

And his answers to the off the field issues have been good and seem sincere. People don't trust him, and I understand that and so does TM, but someone will give him the chance to earn that trust.

Yeah but he was also a 5th round pick which is alot less valuable than a 2nd so we can take more risks.

But i agree that we don't have the resources at the moment and i think he'll have a moderately successful career if he stays out of trouble

5th round that doesn't really contribute at all on offense or defense like TM does on the D.

I think this is really starting to get overplayed.

The last time he got in trouble he was smoking with Jordan Jefferson and another already graduated DB in Baton Rouge. So I don't think it's just "New Orleans"

Jamarcus was soooooooo better off in Oakland. Bottom line is The Saints organization is just as stable as any other. TM will have to be a big boy wherever he's at.

That is true, but I wasn't just saying NOLA, which is why i said the entire state of LA. So much negative press and everyone knows his name and his face in LA. And I guarantee you he has connections in NOLA and knows a lot of people doing things he shouldn't be doing.

I just think going to a place where he doesn't know anybody would be better for him than NOLA, which is most likely the place where he got started on all the weed and stuff.

JaMarcus didn't get in trouble at Oakland, he just sucked and got fat there. . He was arrested in his hometown of Mobile.

But I agree that he will be a big boy wherever he is. Just think its easier to fall back in that trap by being in the same place it got started at.

Look maw, another TM7 thread.

If he isn't snagged in the first 2 rounds, whoever gets him will be getting a bargain. Deion Sanders is an idiot on TV, but I think he's right about this one. CB is one of the most instinctive positions in the game, and Tyrann Mathieu has that. I think he's easily going to become one of the best nickel backs in the NFL.

He'd probably do okay as our 2nd corner too, PRob has great athletic ability but he has the instincts and mental ability of a woodpecker.

You have a negative, criminal aspect in every NFL city in the country. You can't tell me that New Orleans is the worst one of them all.

I find it ironic how many locals can't get over this. Never underestimate the power and value of a second chance at a life-defining opportunity. Saying he can't overcome his personal issues is probably one of the most ignorant, snobbish, and self-absorbed attitudes I have ever seen on this board.

Bounty, please read above.

I agree with everything you just said, just easier to fall back into that trap by going back to the place where it started.

If you are counting the synthetic weed suspension, it would actually be 3rd. My fault.

My point is sometimes it takes a major consequence to force change. To me, missing out on the potential talent development for 1 or 2 more years at LSU and the reduction of his draft stock, and reputation has been a significant consequence. Harboring any type of resentment towards someone that made mistakes does no good for anyone.
