| Bloomberg: No more 2 liters with pizza (Posted on 2/24/13 at 7:55 pm)
frick this man....
quote:
Nanny Bloomberg unleashes his ban on large sodas on March 12 — and there are some nasty surprises lurking for hardworking families. Say goodbye to that 2-liter bottle of Coke with your pizza delivery, pitchers of soft drinks at your kid’s birthday party and some bottle-service mixers at your favorite nightclub. They’d violate Mayor Bloomberg’s new rules, which prohibit eateries from serving or selling sugary drinks in containers larger than 16 ounces. Bloomberg’s soda smackdown follows his attacks on salt, sugar, trans fat, smoking and even baby formula.

I'd bet 90% of the hard asses don't keep up with the news... As soon as they go into a gas station to get a big gulp or order a pizza and can only get 20oz drinks which cost more, they will begin flipping their shite.

Most New Yorkers don't go into gas stations. Two nobody believes that ridiculousness will happen. No pitchers of soda but pitchers of beer. Crazy. Mr. Mayor, get the homeless some care and forget this bs.

Are you a New Yorker? If not, why do you care? If so, why don't you vote him out?

What? You might as well shut down the board. Why should we care about politics in any place we don't live in, even if its an academic interest?

So we have to be directly effected to care? So I guess I'll stop supporting gay marriage.

Conservatives will be happy about this. I mean, after all, they apply Bloomberg's same logic when it comes to their support for drug laws.

Yeah, frick it... We shouldn't pay attention to how big brother is means testing their controls. We should just sit back and wait til it's proposed nationwide before we take notice.

Local government, doing what they want, don't like it, get out, ad nauseum.

New Yorkers have long decided they want their city to be a model of public health. This is what comes with that. It's their right run their city the way they see fit. I guarantee if these proposals were extremely unpopular he wouldn't be pushing them.

You actually bring up a good point. "Let the states decide" is such a popular phrase on here. I freaking hate it. A turd is a turd whether it's a federal or a local sized one.

Nobody is saying they can't do this. But this is typical liberal philosophy. It's not about choice, it's about forcing their choice on everyone else.
