Shot a welfare recipient today

Put a .22 through the ear hole of this bird seed stealing tree rat this evening. He has been wiping out my feeder in the backyard- hanging on it and tipping out all the seed. He has been pretty fast to get gone when he sees me, but was a step slow today.
Quartered up and in the freezer. He will be grilled soon.
I know, poor hoist form.

Mom and dad have one of those spring loaded bird feeders. I like the idea, but I will just patrol the feeders I have with the .22- more fun that way.

Nope. Parboil. Low and slow over coals. Butter and bbq sauce baste. Cat squirrels are great on the grill. A fox squirrel, not so much.
